Modify existing databases for use via the web, this included creating new forms and views.

Modify existing databases that don't work as required

Create a database to track letters sent to a specific department, which person the letter has been sent on to, notify the person the letter is being sent to them and finally when the letter has been dealt with.

Create a library database to store Committee Reports, Minutes and Agendas

Domain Slpit.  This was a huge project, due to a company split the existing Global Notes Domain had to be split into two, the new one containing servers based in five different countries.  The project included:
  • Creating a new domain including new certifiers
  • Creating a new hierachy of Organisational Units
  • Building a new server in the new domain
  • Upgrading the client software for 400 users
  • Migrating 400 users to the new domain

I also created several new databases for the company including:

  • A Hints and Tips database containing help for users
  • A call tracking system for the Help Desk
  • A New User Requests database for use by the HR Department and the IT Department.

Migration from Microsoft Outlook to Lotus Notes for 600 users, including installing client software and building the Notes Server.  Also created several small databases including:
  • A Hints and Tips database containing help for users
  • A Rollout tracking database
  • Group Change requests

Creation of an application to track Holiday Requests.   Users entered a request which was then mailed to the Staff Department for verification, if OK the request then passed to the users Manger for approval.  If approved, the user received a mail back to say their request has been approved and the amount of days holiday was deducted from the users holiday allowance.  If rejected, the users received a mail back telling them why their request was rejected.  Users were also able to see how many days off they had had so far and how many days left from their entitlement.

Creation of a Problem tracking database for use by the IT Department to track calls to the Department and whether or not they were resolved.

An Asset Register to track IT equipment in use by the company.
